It’s christmas time. The joy of festivities is already spread in the air, as everyone is looking forward to get that much needed break at the end of the year. It’s not just about the break, but there is a sense of excitement in the offices also, as people look forward to celebrate being together as a team. After all, this is the one time of the year when the entire office comes together to celebrate the joy of being together.
But, wait — do we really need to wait every year for Christmas to celebrate this joy? Wouldn’t it be really great to celebrate this feeling of being together as a team throughout the year?

I personally believe you don’t have to wait for a particular day to celebrate your team. And, this is what I practice with my team. At ProofHub we celebrate every day together as a team. Here’s how we do it -
We all love receiving the appreciation from our seniors at work. And, it feels wonderful when you know that your name is posted on the ‘Star of the Month’ board. Isn’t it? It could be anything — from an appreciation mail by the client to helping a team member do the job and showing some leadership skills.
At ProofHub, we don’t really feel shy of displaying the achievements of our team members. We have a big notice board, on which we keep posting success stories of our team members. No matter how small the achievement is, we like to bring it out in the open so that others get inspired and the person gets to know how much value do we pay to his or her contribution at work.
In the past, I’ve been part of the organizations where managers simply run the mill and don’t appreciate things like accomplishing tasks on time, being consistent in delivering projects on time, and giving up the best continuously at work.
But my thinking is a bit different in this regard. Though it is the responsibility of an employee to finish things on time. However, as a leader you need to come up with words of encouragement to make sure that the employees continue to deliver their best. And, by broadcasting their milestones like shoot words of encouragement in an email across the entire office to celebrate their continuous excellence at work can work amazingly well in this regard.
Parties and get togethers
One of the best ways to celebrate your achievements is to party together. And, we at ProofHub don’t need any reason to celebrate. Every day is a reason to celebrate the feeling of being together as a team and doing great things.
We have our own ways to celebrate by having fun events of Fridays, going out for movies, planning treks on weekends, team lunches and everything that’s needed to keep the spirits high. From celebrating employee birthdays on a grand scale to bringing the joy during festivals like Christmas — every day is like a celebration for us here at ProofHub.
Rewards and recognition
There is this one thing that we like to keep it like the good old school trend. And, that is the annual reward and recognition. Apart from the fact that we celebrate employee achievements in the aforementioned ways, we also encourage everyone by distributing rewards at our annual day celebration.
It is the time of the year, where everyone is celebrated on a grand scale and gets a medal of honor and a certificate to make the celebrations official from our side. At any point of the year if the employees needs motivation, they can take a look at these certificates and awards and get to know the true value of their efforts.
A simple pat of the back
I’m a firm believer in the philosophy that words have the power to do something that even the biggest of rewards cannot. This is the reason that I personally make it a point to give a pat on the back to each of my employees whenever I get an opportunity.
There are no walls or cabins segregating teams on the floor, so I get the opportunity to work together with everyone. And, whenever I feel like someone has done a good job I simply go up to his table and give them a pat on the back.
It’s not just the monetary incentives that count
There are companies that believe in compensating the employees by offering monetary perks. And, waiting for the festive seasons to offer these compensations. I am firm believer that each day together is an opportunity to celebrate. And, it’s not just the monetary incentives that matter.
It’s the right mix of words of encouragement and monetary perks that inspire the employees to deliver their best at job. This is the reason that at ProofHub every employee gets the monetary incentives, opportunity to learn something new, chances to grow as a professional and at the same time words of encouragement praise in equal proportion.
And, we don’t wait for the Christmas to come
The one thing that I’m really proud to say about the culture here at ProofHub is that we don’t really wait for Christmas to come in order to celebrate the feeling of being together as a team. Though, Christmas is a big occasion for us and we celebrate it on a grand scale by singing the Christmas carols, playing Secret Santa, and spreading joy, gifts and sweets amongst each other, it is not the only occasion. In fact, celebrations keep happening every month for every small and large achievement.
These are the kind of things I never found in organizations when I started my career as a designing professional. That was the time I had created a list of things which I would never want to have in my company. And, I’m now trying to walk the talk with my team here at ProofHub.
So far, I consider myself pretty successful in this voyage as most of the people associated with ProofHub have been around for years.
